Specifications

We have designed Poseidon to the latest maritime engineering standards, using the highest quality marine materials.

Quality Management

The proposed Poseidon will be designed and built to meet and where appropriate exceed its specifications. This includes ensuring that we meet and exceed ABS, ASTM, USN, DOD and any relevant maritime industry-specific regulations or standards.

Sustainability

Bishop Ascendant understands the importance of sustainability - in design, delivery and in continuing operation. For example, this is reflected in how we: • Source sustainable materials and look for ethical suppliers • Work with the local community where appropriate • [Design / manufacture / build] energy-efficient [products] while minimizing waste during [production / construction] We will implement an environmental management system. We will ensure that the design of Poseidon meets or exceeds relevant environmental standards.

Materials

Poseidon is built using marine grade components. Using proprietary urethane rubbers in its capture mechanism. Our urethanes are specially formulated for use in the marine environment, saltwater, UV and dynamic motion while offering the most friction possible to grip a boat hull and capture it. We also use other EPDM rubber materials and polyethylene buoyancy billets. Buoyancy elements can be recycled.

Lifecycle

Poseidon will have a system life of 20 years with periodic maintenance. All the materials we are using are designed to provide a long life in a dynamic harsh marine environment and we make minimal use of any metal components. Any metal components are galvanized and we can also use cathodic protection where necessary.

Maintenance

All maintenance on Poseidon will be performed in the field this will be accomplished using interchangeable parts. New parts will replace used or worn parts on the Poseidon, old parts will be sent to a local depot for servicing and refurbishment.

Customer Support & ILS

Bishop Ascendant will provide detailed parts, maintenance and operating manual in English with the purchase of each unit. The manuals will cover individual part numbers and quantities, as well as service life of parts and replacement procedures. Bishop Ascendant will keep spares of all components in stock for distribution in new or refurbished systems. Bishop Ascendant will establish a service team for initial Poseidon installations. This team will then expand by training regional support teams of our distributors on how to install and service Poseidon.
